Dear Fellow Citizen: The mayors of the cities of Elk Grove, Galt and Lodi are coming together in a first-ever “Tri-City Mayoral Summit.” Mayor Gary Davis of Elk Grove, Mayor Andrew Meredith of Galt and Mayor Jo Anne Mounce of Lodi will co-host a mayoral summit on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at the Littleton Community Center, 410 Civic Drive in Galt. Updated information: We are happy to announce that the summit will be facilitated by special guest Sacramento County Board of Supervisor Don Nottoli. We share much more than Highway 99; we are neighboring cities. As such, the leaders of the cities and residents are coming together in a spirit of collaboration and consensus building. All three mayors’ mission, in bringing our cities together, is to create a forum for open and ongoing communication. Cooperation between the three cities will help us acquire more power, strength and efficiency. We share common needs and concerns. This will be a unique opportunity for residents of all three cities to network, brainstorm, ask questions and more importantly, set a vision for the future, with our cities’ mayors who openly want to discuss the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. This is a perfect opportunity for all of us to come together to share information, to learn more about each other cities, what we have in common and to connect. We call it, “Making the connection, getting the community involved.” The summit will begin with a networking reception, followed by interactive discussion, including a question and answer period on any and all issues and concerns on the minds of residents.
